Chianti Borgo Poneta
A WELCOME IN TUSCAN STYLE
The Chianti area, where the Borgo Poneta agriturismo is located, has a centuries-old tradition of vine cultivation.
After years of abandonment, the rediscovery of the territory in modern times has led to a continuous improvement in the quality of local products. The Chianti Borgo Poneta, with 75-90% Sangiovese, 5-10% Canaiolo Nero, 2-10% Trebbiano, and Malvasia, and 10% other red berry grapes, is a lively red Chianti with an intensely vinous aroma, sometimes with hints of violet, which tends to refine with aging.
The legislation of 1932 divided the territory of Barberino into a subzone belonging to Chianti Classico, a subzone Chianti Colli Fiorentini, and one Chianti.
The area of Poneta, Vico d'Elsa, and Sant'Appiano, belonging to the subzone Chianti Colli Fiorentini, has a centuries-old tradition of vine cultivation, a tradition that after years of abandonment is now experiencing increasing development, accompanied by a continuous improvement in the quality levels of the products.
Borgo Poneta Extra Virgin Olive Oil
THE LOVE FOR NATURE IN A HIGH-QUALITY EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
The Tuscan culinary tradition sees extra virgin olive oil as the absolute protagonist in the taste of a whole series of dishes that were once considered poor but have now been pleasantly rediscovered and revalued.
For this reason, extra virgin olive oil must be a genuine, typical, and high-quality food product. Borgo Poneta extra virgin olive oil, with its ancient tradition, meets all the standards set by the consortium that protects PGI products.
Borgo Poneta's extra virgin olive oil is particularly light and flavorful, just as the Tuscan tradition of this part of Chianti demands.
At pressing, it typically has an acidity of just 0.10%, an excellent result that will enhance the delicacy of your dishes without sacrificing the taste that only Tuscan extra virgin olive oil can offer.
The milling is carried out exclusively with cold-pressed olives of the Frantoio, Leccino, Moraiolo, and Correggiolo varieties, hand-picked in November from the hills of our farm.
